Pivot Point Testimonials

The people at Pivot Point provided so much more than consulting.  They were the best possible coaches for our Board and our new Director.  With expert guidance from Pivot Point, our small non-profit grew from a flailing board and novice Director to one with a new mission, a clear vision, and 5-year strategic plan.

Pivot Point developed not only new marketing and fundraising plans, but worked hands-on to ensure that we had effective board committees in place to implement those plans successfully.  Costs are down, contributed income is up, board engagement is high, and our momentum is strong.  Most importantly, our board now fully embraces its role as the governing body of the organization.  Working with Pivot Point has truly transformed our organization.

I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Lockwood and Ms. Myer over a five-year period while serving on the board of the Children’s Museum of the Arts.  I joined the board, at Ms. Myer’s invitation, during a critical phase in the museum’s history. The 20-year-old arts organization, while a much beloved downtown institution dedicated to making art accessible to every child, was in acute need of a new, bigger home and sharper vision. Keats and Robin set out to do just that. Employing a methodically built framework of strategic planning and capacity building, they led the board through a rigorous process to find the museum a new home.

Keats & Robin understood that CMA, while it was physically overdue for a larger, better-laid space, also needed a higher functioning board and staff to support its seismic growth.  Working in tandem, they led the board and the staff through a series of tightly designed charities focused on board governance, mission development, program expansion and business modeling, all with the goal of providing the necessary infrastructure for a larger, better performing organization.  On top of this, they kicked off what ended up being a $6 million capital campaign.

Their professionalism, deep understanding of non-profit management, their structured, process-driven approached, and most importantly their sense of humor and fair play, made them a pleasure to work with.

I would happily recommend them for any task.

I am pleased to provide this testimonial for Pivot Point Consulting. For the past three months they have consulted with Advice To The Players leading us through the process of visioning, strategic planning and board development. We have greatly benefited from their guidance and expertise as they have taken a board that was unable to focus its energy and ideas, to one almost twice as large, and with purpose, a sense of responsibility and, above all, improved communication skills.

All of this was done with grace and humor, while maintaining a clear grasp of our challenges and difficulties. We now are an organization that can move forward together with a clear strategic plan and hopes for a brighter, and financially, more stable future.
